National Video A Veteran Contest

I would like to challenge all groups to participate in this very worthwhile cause.  Ask a Veteran to come to your meetings during Remembrance Day,

and video tape their visit!

Our family has supported Randy Young in his Quest to create a "Veterans Video Library"

Winners of the contest will be awarded a trip for two to The Netherlands in 2010!

November

Remembrance Day Ceremonies

An event all Scouting Groups, and all sections should attend.

A Veteran - whether active duty, retired or reserve -

is someone who, at  one point in his/her life,

wrote a blank check made payable to 'The Country of  Canada',

for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

Everything we have in this country, we can thank a Veteran for.

Without their personal and family sacrifices, none of us would enjoy the freedoms we take for granted every day.

They deserve our respect.  Thank a Veteran today!

Tubing Night!  February 16 - Chicopee Ski Club

The Area Youth Forum/Advisor is starting to accept pre-registrations for the Chickopee Tubing Night on Feb 16, 2010 at $10 per member/parent (for Beavers only). Registration will begin at 6pm at the front door of the park. Full payment and registration must be recieved by  Feb. 05, 2010.  There will be no extensions on the closing registration date.

I have also managed to secure more than 200 spots with the option up to 425 spots.  With that said, you must pre-register for this event as the park may have to close for the night to the public.  This event is for youth and leaders only.  No family members are allowed to register for this event unless it is a parent of a Beaver.  Only 1 parent can register with a Beaver. For those groups who have already registered and wishes to change their numbers, again Feb 05, 2010 is the closing date for registration.

Beavers are allowed to participate in this event.  They must have and bring with them a certified CSA Helmet to wear for this event.  There are helmets to rent, but they are in limited supply.

Be sure to dress for the weather.  If the weather does not seem to want to cooperate, an alternate date is currently being looked into.

If there are any questions and/or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me or Tim Read the Area Youth Advisor.
